Rainer Pfluger works in the Unit of Energy Efficient Building at the Faculty of Engineering. His research focuses on energy-efficient renovation, ventilation through heat recovery, renewable energies, and energy-efficient lighting. Since 2019, he has been coordinating the Climate Protection lecture series at the University of Innsbruck. He is also head of the Research Center Sustainable Building, which combines the faculties of architecture, technical sciences, and computer science.

About

Rainer Pfluger studied mechanical engineering in Erlangen and Stuttgart. He earned his doctorate at the University of Stuttgart with a thesis on the optimization of outdoor testing facilities for facade inspections. Since 2008, he has been conducting research and teaching at the University of Innsbruck in the field of energy-efficient construction. He completed his habilitation in 2014. Pfluger heads numerous European and international research projects and is a member of the scientific advisory board of the International Passive House Conference.
