Master's programme in Musicology

The Master's degree programme in Musicology provides in-depth and supplementary professional training on the basis of a relevant Bachelor's degree programme. The Master's programme places particular emphasis on the increasingly independent treatment of academic issues, problem-solving skills and the promotion of critical reflection on research results and methodological approaches.

The programme is assigned to the group of Humanities and the Study of Culture (Faculty of Philosophy and History).

Graduates of the Master's degree programme have highly specialised knowledge in various areas of Musicology, which enables them to conduct innovative and original research. They are able to familiarise themselves independently with new problems and achieve methodologically sound results, taking into account the current state of research. They are able to apply their knowledge and understanding in a way that demonstrates professional competence and the ability to integrate knowledge from different fields in a scientifically correct manner.
