University Assistant (PhD Position)
Start/Duration:
from 01.01.2026 to 31.12.2029
20 hours/week – upon submission of the dissertation agreement, the extent of employment will be increased to 30 hours/week
Your Responsibilities:
- Conducting a PhD in the field of power electronics
- Independent research in the field
- Independent teaching
- Scientific publications, participation in student assessments, including supervision of bachelor theses
- Training and further education, participation in conferences and congresses
- Administrative tasks
Your Profile:
- Completed relevant master’s, magister, or diploma degree; research competence with a particular focus on advanced power converter topologies and applications, power semiconductors, energy storage devices, and the control of power converters
- Excellent analytical skills and methodologies
- Experience with simulation and design tools such as Plexim, PSIM, FEM tools, Altium Design, and MATLAB
- Experience in the development, troubleshooting, and testing of power converters is required
- Experience in the analysis and design of medium- and high-frequency magnetics (inductors and transformers) is desirable

For this position, a minimum collective agreement salary of gross €1,857/month (14 times per year)* is provided for an employment extent of 20 hours per week. Upon submission of the dissertation agreement and an increase in the employment extent to 30 hours per week, the salary will be increased to €2,785 (14 times per year). The salary increases with relevant professional experience.
