Production Technology
Welcome to our Website!
The manufacturing technology working group, which is part of the Institute of Mechatronics, conducts research into issues relating to the future of work in cooperation with and with the support of research and industrial partners from industry, science, and politics, as well as funding bodies. We work on projects involving basic research and the development of industry-related applications.
A current focus—although our research is not limited to this—is the investigation of technical systems for physical relief during physical tasks (support systems/exoskeletons) for various application contexts in professional and everyday life, e.g., industry and nursing. In addition to fundamental and application-ready technologies, e.g., systems for supporting activities at and above head height or for load handling, methods for development and evaluation as well as concepts for human-machine interaction are being developed.

Our mission statement
The Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck (LFUI) offers programmes in Mechatronics (Bachelor's and Master's degree) and Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's degree) together with the Tyrolean private university UMIT TIROL in the form of a so-called "Joint Degree Programme". In the winter semester 2022/23, the University of Innsbruck will also start the Master's degree programme in Electrical Engineering.
In addition to the modern infrastructure of avaliable degrees, our students also benefit from high level of research expertise of our professors and scientists at LFUI and UMIT, receiving an education at the highest level.
