He is an internationally recognised leading researcher in the fields of distributed and parallel systems, applied artificial intelligence, big data processing and analytics. He heads the newly established research group "AIM AT Endowed Chair for Edge AI". He has led numerous national and international projects as coordinator.
Radu Prodan was previously Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Innsbruck and then Associate Professor at the Institute of Information Technology at the University of Klagenfurt.
