80 pupils from seven secondary schools in Innsbruck, Schwaz, Imst, Landeck and Telfs took up the offer on 7 October and spent the morning attending one or more of the 12 workshops on offer, in which 12 researchers from Tyrol presented their fields of work.
The range of topics covered not only natural science subjects such as Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, but also German, English, Music and Economics.
The workshops covered topics such as online security, how digital platforms are changing the world, how organs are created using 3D printers and analysing microplastics in the Mountain Regions.
The 8th VWA and Thesis Day at Department of Computer Science is already being planned, in close contact with our partner schools. It will be interesting to see what topics and research areas we prepare for 2023.
