New PhD pro­gramme for dig­i­tal med­i­cal imag­ing and image-guided ther­a­pies

The doc.funds PhD programme "IGDT - integrating multimodal strategies for clinical research", funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF and supported by the Tyrolean universities, will promote young scientists from the natural sciences and medicine in the rapidly growing field of digital medical imaging and image-guided interventions.

"The project is designed to create synergies in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures in order to ultimately improve patient care," says Elke Gizewski, Director of the Innsbruck University Clinic for Neuroradiology, who is coordinating the project together with Clemens Decristoforo from the University Clinic for Nuclear Medicine. Other participating clinics and institutes from the Medical University include Radiotherapy, ENT, Radiology and Medical Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering from the LFUI and Biomedical Informatics and Mechatronics from UMIT TIROL. The doctoral programme offers a wide range of compulsory and optional courses and is designed to teach medical expertise to natural scientists and methods from the natural sciences to medical professionals...... here
