The project is managed at the University of Innsbruck by Assistant Professor Clemens Sauerwein, PhD. He is supported by his team in the realisation of the project. In addition to the University of Innsbruck, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria/Logistikum, the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, the University of Passau and the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg are also participating.
The increasing digitalisation and networking of companies not only brings benefits, but also poses challenges for many companies, especially with regard to their own IT security. Many companies work via shared supply chains and it is precisely these supra-regional, digital connections that are now often the target of cyber attacks. Most large companies have already implemented well-functioning cyber security and resilience measures in this regard. However, such measures are very costly and time-consuming, which is why small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often still have weaknesses in this area.
But this is now set to change with the new CySeReS-KMU research project. Over the next three years, small and medium-sized companies from industry will now be supported in their IT security, cyber security and resilience with a focus on supply chains.
