A total of 111 young scientists submitted their project ideas in response to the TNF 2024 call for proposals. The funded projects were selected by the Tyrolean higher education institutions on the basis of external reviews. They reflect the impressive diversity of the research landscape: the focus was on topics such as sustainable development, medical innovations, artificial intelligence and climate research.
As part of the ceremony, the funding recipients had the opportunity to present their award-winning research projects - including 21 scientists from the University of Innsbruck from 10 different faculties.
Nora HoferThe first recipient of funding was a student from the research group Security and Privacy Lab, headed by Prof. Dr Rainer Böhme, who was awarded funding for her project "Semantic changes in learning-based image compression" on 27 January.
