27 start-ups that have conquered international markets in the first few years after being founded were honoured by the WKÖ as "Born Global Champions".
With an annual growth rate of 15 per cent, there should now be around 3,000 active start-ups in Austria, estimated Renate Schnutt in the run-up to the 2021 "Born Global Champion" award ceremony. Schnutt has been the new Scale-up Representative of the WKÖ Aussenwirtschaft since this year and as such was able to announce her first major project: The award will be preceded by its own "cadre forge". In the "Born Global Academy", start-ups are to be "introduced to foreign markets step by step".
