International research united in Tyrol

As part of the three-day GENIUS Austria Convention, Tyrol became an international meeting place for research into pioneering software development.

The GENIUS Austria Convention 2026, organised in cooperation between CASABLANCA hotelsoftware and the University of Innsbruck, offered a varied programme of working sessions, specialist lectures and a wide range of supporting events over three intensive days in Innsbruck and Schönwies. As a result, Tyrol has become an international hotspot for software development research. The focus was on the latest scientific findings and newly developed tools for automating and optimising the entire software development cycle.

International research results

The highlight of the international conference was the evening event at the impressive new CASABLANCA Campus in Schönwies. Around 60 invited guests from politics, business and science accepted the invitation. The evening centred on the presentation of key research findings developed by international partners - including British Telecom, Siemens, the University of Innsbruck and other European institutions and technology companies. All contributions were dedicated to a central question: How can generative artificial intelligence transform previously manual development processes and make them more efficient in the long term? The team from Cape of Good Code was recognised as the winning project by a panel of experts. The prize was awarded by the State Councillor for Science and Research, Cornelia Hagele.

Convention with appeal

"With the GENIUS Austria Convention, we brought together cutting-edge international research and industrial practice in an inspiring environment. Our aim is to harness the enormous potential of generative AI for the entire software development cycle. And we do this through collaboration across national and organisational boundaries," said the organising duo Maximilian Ehrhart from CASABLANCA hotelsoftware and Benedikt Dornauer from the University of Innsbruck in unison. The GENIUS Austria Convention 2026 sent a strong signal for the future of AI-supported software development, had a noticeable impact on the industry beyond the project partners and proved to be a complete success for all those involved.
