Archive work

By analyzing historical sources (documents, files, maps, images, photographs, etc.) from archives, museums, and private collections, it is possible to research the technical, economic, and social conditions surrounding the use of Alpine resources since the High Middle Ages. By comparing this with archaeology and the natural sciences, a “big picture” emerges of an Alpine economic cycle that has been in place for centuries.
