Prof. Mauricio Morales-Beltran appointed Guest Professor @ LSU 2025/26

Welcome Prof. Mauricio Morales-Beltran!

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Mauricio Morales-Beltran will join LSU as Guest Professor during the winter semester 2025/26.

Prof. Morales-Beltran is an architect and structural engineer, holding a Ph.D. in Energy-Based Seismic Design of Tall Buildings (TU Delft, 2018). He began his academic career in 2001 at the School of Architecture of the Universidad Católica del Norte in Chile, while also working as a practicing architect. Following a Master’s in Seismic Engineering (Universidad Mayor, Chile), he worked as a structural engineer from 2008 to 2010 before continuing as Ph.D. researcher and lecturer at TU Delft.

Since 2014, he has been a faculty member at Yaşar University in Izmir, Turkey. His current research focuses on the application of topology-optimized structures in architectural design and the advancement of computational morphogenesis of structures.

With his wide-ranging expertise bridging architecture, structural design, and building technology, Prof. Morales-Beltran will bring valuable perspectives to both teaching and research at LSU.
