Green Office

Our Green Office is a concept for an environmentally friendly, sustainable office that conserves resources, promotes the health of employees and reduces the ecological footprint. It is not just about the office building itself, but also about working methods, procurement and corporate culture, thus supporting the principle of sustainability enshrined in the University of Innsbruck's mission statement.

Typical features of a green office:

🌱 Energy & buildings

  • Use of renewable energies (e.g. solar power, green electricity tariffs)
  • Energy-efficient devices (laptops, printers, LED lighting)
  • Good thermal insulation, intelligent heating and cooling systems

♻️ Conserving resources

  • Low-paper or paperless working
  • Recycled materials (e.g. printer paper, furniture made from recycled wood)
  • Waste separation and recycling management

🚲 Mobility

  • Promotion of cycling, public transport or electric cars (e.g. bicycle parking spaces, job tickets, charging stations)
  • Home office options to reduce commuting distances

🍃 Working environment & health

  • Plants in the office for better air quality and well-being
  • Ergonomic furniture
  • Natural lighting and good acoustics

🌍 Corporate culture

  • Sustainable procurement (fair and ecological supply chains)
  • Raising awareness among employees (workshops, green teams)
  • Transparent sustainability goals and reports

A green office is therefore not just "a green office", but a holistic approach to sustainable working that combines ecology, economy and social responsibility.
