Sensational success at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) in JINING, China, 2025

3 x silver medals and 4 x bronze medals (3 x times in the team competitions ITFI - International Team Field Investigation & ESP - Earth Science Project) and an incredible individual bronze med al (Leonardo Leschanz in the individual competition (Individual Test) are the result of this year's "International Earth Science Olympiad"! => https://ieso2025.cn/

The winners are:

  • 3 x bronze - Leonardo Leschanz - Europagymnasium Klagenfurt
  • 2 x silver - Clemens Querk - Peraugymnasium Villach
  • 1 x silver and 1 x bronze - Aisha Sombati - Peraugymnasium Villach

31 nations (worldwide) and 111 students between the ages of 14 and 18 took part in this international Olympiad. Only the 4 best students from each country / nation travelled to the venue.

The students were invited to the Department of Geology in advance and trained there.
