AFO - ALPINERESEARCH CENTERS

The Faculty of Biology at the University of Innsbruck operates 8 research sites in different habitat types in order to provide optimal field research opportunities for the various research interests within the faculty.

These research sites extend over an altitude gradient of almost 2,000 metres and include such diverse habitats as alpine lakes, forests, agricultural land in valley and alpine pasture regions, (high) alpine vegetation zones and glaciated areas.

The newly founded AFO - Alpine Research Centers are intended to increase the visibility and awareness of the individual locations, identify synergies and thus promote cooperation between scientists within the faculty as well as between faculties.

The individual research centres are presented in detail here, as is latest research results, projects and events. You will also find a list of the scientific Publications and data data collected over the last two decades.
