On April 21, 2026, Alessandro Magnani gave a guest lecture in the framework of the Entangled Antiquities doctoral college. He spoke on the following topic: “The evolution of Kushan kingship from its origins to the display of a new identity.” In his talk, he explained how the early Kushan rulers viewed themselves and discussed whether one could already speak of an imperial entity or whether King Kanishka would be the first to fulfill this role.
