Science Slam – Hitchhiker’s guide to galaxy

Hitchhikers guide to physics – don’t panic

During this first DK ALM festive event on May 15th 2024 eight slammers from the DK ALM captivated a full house by giving in an entertaining ways insight into research topics and the daily life of PhD students in physics. Beginning by a slam outside ranking given by the DK ALM speaker and faculty member Roland Wester explaining his PhD research back at University Heidelberg in 1999, the DK ALM PhD student slammers used the stage at Treibhaus to explain different topics and sides of their PhD time. Preparing an entangled fruit salad, reading out of a dairy to see what the hell the students are working on the whole day, looking out to lightsabers from Star Wars or lighting violines, stones and waves, freezing atoms .. they also talked about different perspectives on theory and experiment.

Our DK ALM PhD students inspired the enthusiastic audience and perhaps encouraged them to study physics in the future.
