International conference at the Department of Translation Studies

University of Innsbruck
22 and 23 September 2017

This conference aims to bring together teachers and researchers on translation and interpreting programmes who are interested in developing methodologies to support students’ acquisition of language and translation skills.

We particularly welcome contributions which address the following topics:

  • Language acquisition and teaching methodologies (L1/L2 and foreign languages)
  • Introducing translation: Aims and methodologies
  • Skills acquisition and independent learning
  • Translation theory in BA programmes
  • The CEFR and translation and interpreting programmes

The conference is a continuation of the Language for Translation:
The Transition from Language Learning to Translation Practice conference held in 2015 at the Department of Translation Studies in Graz and is organised jointly by teachers of the TS Departments in Innsbruck and Graz.

Conference languages

Papers can be presented in German or English; simultaneous interpreting will be provided by students of the Department of Translation Studies in Innsbruck.

Conference fee:

Regular fee: 90 euros

Early-bird fee: 70 euros (before 30 June 2017)

Students: 50 euros

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 

30 April 2017. Please submit your abstracts (max. 300 words) to tagung.ibkundgraz.2017@gmail.com
