Getting here

How do you get to Innsbruck? How do you get around Innsbruck?

If at all possible, we would ask you to take environmental considerations into account when travelling, or to travel in an environmentally friendly manner.

Travelling by train or bus

Innsbruck Central Stationis located near the city centre and is approximately 10 minutes away by public transport or a 15–20-minute walk from the conference venue.

The FlixBus stop is situated between Innsbruck’s Hauptbahnhof and Westbahnhof. It takes about 7 minutes to walk to the Hauptbahnhof. The latest timetables can be found at FlixBus → Travel cheaply by long-distance coach.

Using the IVB services (Innsbruck Public Transport)

From the main station, you can reach the conference venue (Klinik/Universität stop) without changing services by taking bus routes F (towards the airport) and R(towards Rehgasse) or tram route 5 (towards Technik West). Timetables and fares can be found at www.ivb.at.

Cycling in Innsbruck

There are plenty of bicycle parking spaces available. There is also a public city bike-share scheme: www.stadtrad-innsbruck.at/.

Walking in Innsbruck

Innsbruck is a relatively small city; the centre is on flat ground, and the conference venue is only about a 12–15-minute walk away. Most of the sights are also within easy walking distance of the centre or the conference venue.

Travelling by car

The best way to reach the conference venue and then the city centre is via the Innsbruck-West motorway exit, then along Egger-Lienz-Straße and on via Innerkofler-Straße.

Even if you are travelling by car, we recommend that you leave it in the car park once you have arrived and – as described above – use public transport, a bicycle or walk to reach the conference venue and to explore the city and the surrounding area.

Travelling by plane

Innsbruck has an airport, but flights are relatively expensive. It is generally advisable to use Munich Airport, which is two-and-a-half hours away by train or car. There is a shuttle service run by the agency “Four Seasons Travel” (https://www.tirol-taxi.at/), which will collect you from Munich Airport at an affordable price and take you to your hotel, or back from your hotel to the airport.

Innsbruck Airport isbest reached via stopovers at larger airports (e.g. Vienna or Frankfurt). To get from the airport to the city centre, you can take the F bus, which runs every quarter of an hour during the day and reaches the city centre in around 15 minutes.

If you’re travelling by car or plane, there’s also the option to offset your journey:
