The admission test is a written examination and includes the following components:
- To understand simple, subject-related texts in German and English
- Ability to formal-analytic thinking
- Ability to gain subject-related knowledge from literature especially for beginners.
The purpose of the entrance examination for the Bachelor’s degree in Psychology is to identify the most suitable candidates from among the group of applicants. This means that individual examination results are not assessed against a fixed criterion (e.g. 50% of the questions must be answered correctly), but rather that the assessment of an individual’s results is made in relation to the results of the other applicants.
Learning Script:

Only available in german Language!
NOTE: Currently, only the learning script is available for the item ‘Subject-relevant knowledge from literature for beginners’. The book chapters from previous years are no longer part of the entrance test or have been completely replaced by the revised learning script.
The learning script for the Bachelor of Psychology 2026 entrance exam corresponds to the content of the 2025 exam script. Some corrections have been made - you will find a list below - without guarantee of completeness.
Here are sample items to illustrate how the questions are asked. Please note that these are not examples of exercises, but an overview of the type of questions.
The results of the admission test will be arranged in descending order, i.e. the best 260 applicants can be admitted for this study programme at the University of Innsbruck if the general requirements are met according to §§ 63 and following of the Universities Act 2002. Admission to the University of Innsbruck is only possible for the winter semester 2026/2027 or the summer semester 2027. For a later admission you have to pass the admission procedures again.
