Application procedure
Requirements for an application
- a completed licentiate or master's degree in theology, philosophy or religious education.
- international doctoral candidate from a low or middle income country according to the OECD DAC list (DAC List of ODA Recipients - OECD)
- not older than 35 years at the time of application (40 years for mothers).
- A letter of recommendation from either an academic institution or the diocesan bishop or the respective religious superior. The letter of recommendation should indicate the position the candidate is to take up after completing her studies.
- Willingness to be involved in local church structures and to take part in public events
- initial ideas about the topic of the doctorate and the language in which the dissertation is to be written (German, English or another language in consultation with the future supervisor of the doctoral thesis).
