About us
The interfaculty Research Centre for Tourism and Leisure is a network and platform for all researchers at the University of Innsbruck.
The centre develops joint projects and brings together researchers from various faculties at the University of Innsbruck to advance tourism and leisure research.
Since 2015, seven externally funded projects have already been completed, and further projects are currently being worked on by researchers from six faculties at the University of Innsbruck. In addition, numerous interdisciplinary publications are being produced.
Research topics include crowdfunding in tourism, the influence of global change (especially climate change) on tourist needs and resource allocation in destinations, sport events and innovations in the mountains, and family business development and succession in tourism.
The Research Centre for Tourism and Leisure recentlyfounded the new doctoral programme „Tourism and Leisure in Mountain Regions“.
