Requirements
- Admission to the University of Innsbruck is based on the admission procedure specified in the regulations of the University of Innsbruck and the Medical University of Innsbruck. According to §54e para. 4 UG, upon admission the student also becomes a member of the Medical University of Innsbruck.
- Admission to the Master's degree programme in Psychotherapy requires the completion of a relevant Bachelor's degree programme or a relevant Bachelor's degree programme at a university of applied sciences or another degree programme at a recognised domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution that does not differ significantly from one of the degree programmes pursuant to para. 4.
- Studies or training programmes that are equivalent to the first training phase according to the Psychotherapy Act 2024 (PThG 2024) and thus offer access to the Master's degree programme in Psychotherapy can be found in § 10 para. 2 PThG 2024.
- In any case, the Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology completed at the University of Innsbruck and the Diploma degree programme in Human Medicine completed at the Medical University of Innsbruck are considered eligible studies. The Rectorate shall decide on the existence of another eligible degree programme in accordance with § 64 para. 3 UG.
- In order to compensate for significant subject-related differences, supplementary examinations totalling a maximum of 30 ECTS credits (hereinafter: ECTS-Credits) may be prescribed, which must be completed by the end of the second semester of the Master's degree programme.
Recommended Cours Sequence
The exemplary course sequence given below is recommended for full-time students beginning their study programme in the winter semester. The table shows one possible course sequence for the bachelor's programme and is not compulsory. Delays resulting from repeated examinations are not taken into account.
The standard duration of the study programme is 4 semesters or 120 ECTS-Credits, whereby according to the Universities Act of 2002, a workload of 1,500 (real) hours per academic year must be fulfilled, corresponding to 60 ECTS-Credits (one ECTS-Credit is equivalent to a workload of 25 hours).

Examination regulations
