I am a licensed pharmacist and certified chemical laboratory technician, bridging practical analytical chemistry with advanced pharmaceutical research. My scientific work focuses on investigating single- and multicomponent systems of active pharmaceutical ingredients through a comprehensive combination of experimental and virtual screening.
Experimentally, I firstly evaluate solubilities across more than 30 solvents to strategically design targeted crystallization processes, including slurry, grinding, antisolvent, evaporation, and cooling crystallization techniques. This approach drives the discovery of known and novel polymorphs, solvates, and cocrystals. These forms are fully characterized to map their phase behavior, transformation pathways, thermodynamic stability, and storage profiles. To achieve this, I utilize high-precision techniques including Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Thermogravimetric Analysis, hot-stage microscopy, Infrared Spectroscopy, moisture sorption-desorption analysis, and Powder X-ray Diffraction under both ambient and controlled temperature and humidity conditions.
To uncover solid-form mechanisms and ensure highly reliable results, extensive virtual screening complements my laboratory work. I apply molecular-based approaches like Molecular Complementarity (MC), Multicomponent Hydrogen-Bond Propensity (MCHBP), and Molecular Electrostatic Potential (MEP) maps to assess compatibility and interaction probabilities. I use structure-based Crystal Structure Prediction (CSP) models to explore thermodynamically feasible 3D packings, supported by DFT-based interaction energy calculations via CrystalExplorer. This systematic validation of computational models against experimental data bridges theory and practice, yielding a better understanding of complex solid-state landscapes.
