Scientific staff within the framework of global budget projects ("Sonderprojekte") of the university like promotion of young researchers, FemCareer - Fellowship, HSRM and so on, are supervised by the team Scientific Staff.

The team Project Staff and Project Supervisors is your service centre for all questions and issues relating to the employment relationships of project staff.

Our tasks at a glance:
- We advise and support project supervisors and employees in all personnel-related issues concerning externally funded projects.
- We take care of the recruitment process via VIS:online, contract design and remuneration of project staff.
- We ensure compliance with all legal and institutional requirements.
Our tasks in detail:
- Advising project supervisors and project staff on personnel law and administrative issues in connection with externally funded projects.
- Support in planning and applying for personnel positions in externally funded projects, including personnel cost calculations.
- Ongoing support and counselling of project staff on personnel-related issues (e.g. advice on topics such as maternity leave, parental leave, holiday entitlement, employment options, etc.)
- Support with project audits and accounting
- Handling the recruitment of project staff (via VIS:online)
- Creation and administration of employment contracts
- Processing extensions and amendments to existing employment contracts.
- Checking the legal and financial framework conditions for employment and contract amendments, including consecutive terminated employments.
- Handling of administrative processes at the end of employment
- Preparatory work for the remuneration of project staff
- Support in monitoring compliance with budget requirements and funding conditions
- Ensuring compliance with payroll tax and social security regulations.
- Maintaining personnel and absence data in the relevant administration and payroll systems.
- Information on legal and internal regulations, e.g. on terminated contracts, job profiles, working time models or remuneration options.
- Ensuring compliance with labour law, financial and internal regulations.
- Compliance with the requirements of third-party funders
- Cooperation with other departments (e.g. with the project.service.office, Finance Department, Department of Budget and Controlling)
- Communication with external institutions (BVAEB - social insurance, etc.) and funding organisations (e.g. FWF)
- Participation as a speaker in internal training courses on personnel-related topics for externally funded projects
- Ongoing maintenance and provision of relevant information (e.g. Uniwiki)
