Doctoral Programme Musicology
The doctoral programme at the Faculty of Philosophy and History belongs to the group of Humanities and the Study of Culture.
Graduates have both comprehensive and specialised knowledge in the areas of their research discipline and are familiar with related fields of knowledge. They have both the necessary knowledge and the skills and competences required to independently develop and implement methodologically sound solutions to subject-specific questions in their research discipline.

Graduates are able to further develop and assess areas of their research discipline academically and apply the skills they have acquired across disciplines, thus contributing to the advancement of academic knowledge at an international level.
Prerequisite: Relevant Diplom or Master's degree programme or equivalent and proof of language proficiency.
Graduates have the competence to independently develop their knowledge and understanding in their research discipline and related fields of knowledge. They have scientifically sound key competences for problem solving, supported by theory and methods, and are able to critically question the results of research and interpret them from a social, scientific and/or ethical perspective.
Graduates are able to plan and analyse in university and non-university (research) institutions in their field of research. Professional activities include, above all, scientific and managerial activities in private and public companies and institutions. This includes, in particular, research and teaching activities at universities and other national and international research institutions.
