Description

Magnetically shielded room for low frequency magnetic field measurements (DC to ~10 kHz), e.g. for the characterization and imaging of magnetic nanoparticles.

Equipment

Magnetically shielded room:

  • two layers of Mu-metal, one layer of Aluminum

Magnetometers:

Magnetic field generation:

  • Helmholtz coils, printed circuit board (PCB) coils (µT up to mT)
  • current sources for inductive loads

Non-magnetic equipment:

  • non-magnetic patient bed

Magnetic nanoparticles (MNP):

  • magnetic nanoparticle phantoms
  • methods for characterization of magnetic nanoparticles: magnetorelaxometry (MRX), magnetic particle spectroscopy (MPS)
  • imaging of magnetic nanoparticles
