Research infrastructure

The infrastructure of the Research Institute for Limnology, Mondsee, offers comprehensive basic equipment for scientific research into limnological and evolutionary biology issues. The institute has two motor vehicles, two research boats and a dinghy with an outboard motor at its disposal for field work. The sampling equipment includes water samplers, plankton nets with different mesh sizes, two multi-probes, sediment traps, multi-mesh nets and a bank trawl, two purse seines, a scientific echo sounder, etc. The research building is equipped with five walk-in climate chambers and two aquarium rooms for the breeding and cultivation of species, some of which are sensitive (e.g. whitefish), at different temperatures. Employees, scientific guests and trainees can also work in the laboratory area with modern laboratory infrastructure.
