Research

Eight research groups are dedicated to the ecology and evolution of aquatic organisms under the influence of human utilisation and climate change. This approach encompasses molecular adaptation, organisms and populations through to biotic communities. ILIM is primarily funded by the University of Innsbruck, the Austrian Research Fund and the European Union. Expertise and applied research projects are carried out for various public institutions (provincial government, etc.).

The research results are published in international journals (Publications). The annual report Annual report (partly in German) summarises the activities of the institute's staff in terms of research and teaching. Since 2013, activities have been summarised as part of the UIBK's research performance documentation (FLD). The working groups currently active in Mondsee are listed below (working group leaders in brackets).

The Research Department's work performance was last evaluated as excellent by a team of international experts in 2010 (Evaluation report 2010).
