SSHN Scholarship for Short Scientific Stays

For: PhD students and postdocs
In 2026, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is renewing its excellence scholarship program for high-level scientific stays (1 to 6 months) in France. These scholarships are open to:
- PhD students affiliated with an Austrian research institution (university, research institute, etc.);
- Postdoctoral researchers or early-career researchers who obtained their PhD within the last 5 years.
These scholarships enable young researchers to deepen their work in France and develop new collaborations.

French+ Scholarship for Language Stays

For: Students in natural sciences or training in gastronomy, oenology, or hospitality.
In 2026, the Institut français d'Autriche and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs are once again offering a scholarship for a language stay in France. These scholarships are aimed at students studying natural sciences, gastronomy, oenology, or hospitality in an Austrian higher education institution who wish to improve their French language skills. There is no minimum level required to apply: beginners and intermediate learners are encouraged to apply.

Last Days to Apply for the "Ma Thèse en 180 secondes" Competition

For: Francophone PhD students
The "Ma Thèse en 180 secondes" competition is back in Austria for its 8th edition! Francophone PhD students, explain your thesis clearly and convincingly in just 180 seconds. The Austrian selection will take place on March 17 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien), and the Central European final will be held on June 17 in Vienna.
