Building Bridges between Innsbruck and France
Universität Innsbruck and the French Embassy in Austria share the goal of fostering scientific cooperation, mobility, and cultural exchange between Innsbruck and France. This commitment is formalised in a three-year agreement (2025–2027) covering all academic disciplines at Universität Innsbruck and implemented in the spirit of interdisciplinarity. In 2026, particular attention will be given, though not exclusively, to the centennial celebrations of the French cultural presence in Austria, the University’s Research Areas, and collaborative initiatives within the framework of the Aurora European University Alliance.
The partnership particularly supports the exchange of knowledge and mobility between researchers in Innsbruck and France. This includes travel grants, participation in academic lectures organised by the French Embassy in Vienna, and the promotion of joint publication projects. Beyond scientific exchange, the partnership also fosters cultural encounters, and a subscription to the Culturethèque provides all members of the university with free access to an extensive range of digital cultural and literary resources.
