Research in the Euregio

University cooperation within the Euregio is an ongoing process. The joint research initiatives reflect the strong network established between the Universities of Bozen-Bolzano, Innsbruck, and Trento, as well as other research institutes.

Academy Merano | Free University of Bozen-Bolzano | University of Innsbruck | Unviersity of Trent

The Euregio Platform for Human Dignity and Human Rights, EUPHUR for short, is a joint initiative of the Euregio Universities of Innsbruck, Bolzano and Trento and the Merano Academy. The objective of EUPHUR is to scientifically examine and reflect on fundamental questions of human dignity as well as central topics of current human rights debates in order to initiate and promote social discourse.

Eure­gio Science Fund

With the participation of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the University of Innsbruck, and the University of Trento

Through the Euregio Science Fund, the Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino Euregio supports innovative, multi-year cooperative projects at universities and research institutes within the Euregio. The Euregio Science Fund aims to strengthen the Euregio’s research performance and networking capacity in the context of international competition. The program is administered in cooperation with the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).

Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, University of Innsbruck und University of Trento

Historegio is a joint research project on regional history, which is carried out in cooperation with the EGCT. Its goal is to enhance research on regional history and the historical Tyrol within the three Euregio-Universities and to create new opportunities for cooperation.

Envi­ron­ment, Food & Health

Lead: FEM | Partner: Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, University of Innsbruck, University of Trento, Eurac, UMIT Tirol, Laimburg Research Centre, ASAA, APSS

The EFH project is built around the “one health” concept, and will address how ENVIRONMENT, FOOD and HEALTH are all linked to obesity and healthy ageing. The overall aim is to translate both the actual and recommended dietary patterns in EUREGIO into quantitative measures of environmental and health impact.
