The VU Graduate Winter School offers a focused, high-quality academic experience designed for Master's or PhD candidates who want to strengthen their research and professional skills. All courses are small-scale and intensive, taught in English by experienced VU Amsterdam lecturers. The courses are tailored to meet the advanced needs of researchers and early-career specialists.

For students at Aurora universities, are selected three interesting courses that will take place in January 2026. All courses are available in the Aurora Course Catalogue:​
1. The Changing Landscape of Food Consumption (physical)​
Explore the animal, dairy, and protein transition through culture, science and policy in this interactive, hands-on course.​

2. Use of Generative AI in Academia (physical)​
Explore generative AI tools to enhance your research, from data analysis to ethics, for all disciplines and academic levels.​

3. Climate Change, Migration and Social Control (online)​
Theoretically, we draw on literature about slow violence, including human and non-human (forced) mobility due to ecological change and the power and knowledge dynamics underlying multi-layered injustices in the Anthropocene.

Selection Procedure​

Only two spots are available for the mobility funding. Students must be nominated by their home university to apply. Universität Innsbruck students should submit a one-page motivation letter (A4) via aurora-mobility@uibk.ac.at.
The deadline for UIBK student applications is 3 December 2025.
