Shaping the Shores: Society and Environment in Early Iron Age Traunkirchen through Sedimentary Proxies

This project examines why the Early Iron Age lakeside settlement of Traunkirchen endured in the Alpine region. Central to the study are sedimentary archives from lake and terrestrial cores, integrating microarchaeological and paleoenvironmental proxies to reconstruct climate, water-level changes, human impact, and regional exchange networks, including links to Hallstatt.
