Analysis of photochemical reactions

Description of the method

In mass spectrometry combined with photodissociation, molecules are irradiated with light to fragment them in a targeted manner and thus obtain detailed structural information.

Examples of applications

  • Information on the structure of molecules (e.g. functional groups, types of bonds)
  • Information on the properties of chemical bonds
