FunMat Travel Grants 2026

The FSP FunMat is awarding travel grants to its members.

What? Participation in conferences, summer schools and similar events, research stays with cooperation partners.
Who? Master and PhD students, PostDocs in their first year after completing their doctorate.
How much? Max. 75 % of total travel costs (travel, accommodation, conference fee) up to a maximum of € 900 per research group per year.
The € 900 can be divided between a maximum of two trips.

Procedure:

  • Informal request to funmat@uibk.ac.at with details of the trip (location, duration, cost estimate).
  • The e-mail must show that the working group leader agrees to the application (leader in cc, attached e-mail, or similar).
  • Travel expenses have to be settled first via an institute or project account. 
  • After the payment has been completed, please send the cover sheet of the travel cost settlement to funmat@uibk.ac.at. The funding will be paid to the corresponding account. 
  • Presentations (posters, lectures, etc.) from the trip must be recorded in the FLD and assigned to the FSP FunMat.
