MP² - Multipath & Multiparticle Interference
We try to find answers to questions like: To which accuracy can certain postulates of quantum mechanics be verified? Can a wave-particle duality be observed in the multi-particle regime? Which genuine multi-particle interference phenomena exist? To address such questions, we develop and use tailored sources of single photons and/or multi-photon states with a particular emphasis on achieving good control over the quality of the photonic state, as well as custom-designed free-space or waveguide-integrated precision interferometers. We further leverage our technical knowledge on photon sources and interferometers to develop more efficient photonic interfaces in hybrid quantum networks and to explore new avenues in quantum metrology.
