Summary
The aim of IEA EBC Annex 86 is to accelerate the development of better and more energy-efficient strategies for indoor air quality management. This is understood to mean coordinated measures to improve indoor air quality, with a non-exclusive focus on ventilation concepts. To this end, a health-based indoor air quality metric will be used to develop a comprehensive evaluation method for indoor air quality management strategies (Subtask 1), a database for typical pollutant emissions and data-based modelling of their sources will be created (Subtask 2), intelligent materials (Subtask 3) and intelligent ventilation concepts will be (further) developed (Subtask 4) and the potential of cloud and IoT-based technologies will be explored (Subtask 5).
As part of the Austrian participation, relevant Austrian indoor air quality measurement studies from preliminary projects will be analysed for the planned international data repository and innovative ventilation control strategies will be (further) developed, evaluated and tested using measurement technology.
