The CIRCULAR.DAY, organised by the Standortagentur Tirol, the University of Innsbruck (AB EEB) and the Energy Agency as part of the "ATTENTION" and "INNO.Circle" projects, was successfully held on 24 March. The event was characterised by high-calibre participation from specialist representatives - particularly from the construction industry - and once again established itself as a central platform for professional exchange and strategic networking.
The focus was on the question of how companies can successfully shape the transition to a functioning circular economy. Representatives from business, research, politics and administration from Tyrol, South Tyrol and Salzburg discussed practical solutions, best practices and new opportunities for cooperation. The impetus provided by the event made a significant contribution to tapping into new potential, further strengthening cooperation between Austria and Italy and driving forward specific initiatives in the field of the circular economy.
In the afternoon programme, the University of Innsbruck with its Energy Efficient Building Unit, Timber Engineering Unit and Construction Management Unit set important accents on the topic of circular construction. Together with project partners from EURAC Research and ZAB Salzburg, innovative approaches were presented on how materials can be used for longer, resources conserved and sustainable construction processes promoted. The University of Innsbruck thus emphasised its role as a central partner for research, knowledge transfer and sustainable transformation in the region.
CIRCULAR.DAY impressively demonstrated that the circular economy not only offers ecological benefits, but also opens up new economic opportunities. Networking, innovation and cross-border cooperation create concrete solutions for a sustainable economy.
