BEEN Courses in Kathmandu 2025
As part of the EU Switch Asia project BEEN (Building Energy Efficiency in Nepal), a course on energy-efficient buildings was held in Kathmandu from July 29 to August 1, 2025, for participants from the Ministry of Urban Development (MOUD) and the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC). From August 4 to 9, 2025, another course was held on the introduction to thermal building simulation with Rhino and the freeware-tools Grasshoppers/Ladybug/Honeybee and OpenStudio/EnergyPlus and Radiance with approximately 30 participants from ministries, universities, the Chamber of Architects, and offices in the fields of architecture and civil engineering.
Wolfgang Streicher and Michael Strobel from the Energy-Efficient Construction department, as well as partners from MINERGY in Kathmandu and Greentech Technology in New Delhi, India, conducted the courses.
