Dr Jan Mitrovics is CEO of JLM Innovation GmbH in Tübingen, Germany which he founded in 2004. After his diploma in physics at the University of Tübingen he started the spin-off MoTech together with a team of researchers to commercialize electronic nose and chemical sensor technology in 1996. MoTech merged in 2000 with Nordic Sensor Technologies and was renamed to AppliedSensor. Jan left AppliedSensor to finish his PhD in physical chemistry at the University of Tübingen in 2004.
Jan has more than 30 years of experience in chemical sensing and the design of electronic noses and multi sensor systems with applications spanning quality control, food, environmental sensing, automotive, safety and medical.
With his company JLM Innovation Jan provides instruments, expertise and development services to companies worldwide to establish new technologies for chemical sensing.
Breath analysis has been a focus since 2010, where JLM Innovation has been involved in research projects providing system integration and instrument development.  Instruments developed range from small handheld systems to multi technology instruments combining more than 60 sensors with optical spectrometry and breath sampling.
Jan has been a member of the executive board of the International Society for Olfaction and Chemical Sensing for more than 15 years, where he currently serves as treasurer.
