The Career Service has been set up at the University of  Innsbruck to provide students and graduates with services supporting their entry into working life and their career development.

The opportunity to present oneself as an employer through advertisements or at events, as part of these Career Service offerings, is an attractive employer branding or recruitment activity and hepls to reach a highly qualified group of academics from a wide range of disciplines more effectively.

The Career Service offerings for employers include, among others:

  • job and internship advertisements
  • various event formats

The following terms and conditions govern the cooperation between the University of Innsbruck and employers when using and utilising the services of the Career Service.

These terms and conditions apply to the cooperation between the Career Service of the University of Innsbruck and employers. Employers include companies and firms (both natural and legal persons), public institutions, and/or associations (hereinafter referred to as “Employer”).

These terms and conditions apply exclusively; any conflicting or deviating general terms and conditions of the customer shall not apply.

Any individual amendments and/or additions must be mutually agreed upon in writing; verbal side agreements do not exist. No exclusivity agreement is granted.

If an employer can be demonstrably classified as an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) or NPO (Non-Profit Organization), there is the possibility to conclude an agreement with the University of Innsbruck for the free use of its services. Any transaction fees and bank charges shall be borne by the Client.

Prices for services not included in the service catalog are subject to individual agreements between the University of Innsbruck and the Client.

  • Invoicing by the University of Innsbruck for services related to the internship and job portal will take place after the order has been recorded and confirmed by the Career Service. Payment is due within 14 days of receipt of the invoice, without any deductions.
  • Payment for services related to the internship and job portal is be made by bank transfer. The invoice amount must be transferred to the following bank account:

  • For services provided for fee-based events, invoicing will occur following confirmation of registration by the University of Innsbruck. In this case, payment must be made in advance of the service being provided. The invoice amount sdepends on the respective booking category and is due for payment within 14 days of receipt of the invoice, without any deductions or discounts.
  • Payment for services provided for events is be made by bank transfer. The invoice amount must be transferred to the following bank account:

  • All prices are subject to change and stated as gross amounts, including 20% VAT. The accumulation of discounts is excluded.
  • In the event of delayed payment attributable to the Client, the University of Innsbruck reserves the right to charge interest on arrears at a rate of 9.2% p.a. above the base interest rate set by the European Central Bank. In all other cases, statutory default interest of 4% p.a. shall apply. The right to assert further damages remains unaffected. Furthermore, the University of Innsbruck reserves the right to withdraw from the agreement with immediate effect, exclude the Client from participation in events, or remove previously published advertisements.

* Note! Payments made without referencing the invoice number (Rechnungsnummer) cannot be allocated, as they are received into a central account of the University.

If unforeseeable and unavoidable events or force majeure—such as war, fire, strike, prolonged server outages or serious disruptions to the telecommunications network due to reasons beyond the control of the University of Innsbruck—significantly alter the economic relevance or content of the service or have a considerable impact on the operations of the University of Innsbruck, the contract shall be reasonably adjusted in good faith.

In the case of events, the issuance of legal or regulatory provisions or orders that prevent the event from being held shall also be considered an unforeseeable and unavoidable event.

If a reasonable adjustment is not economically viable, the University of Innsbruck may withdraw from the contract by notifying the employer immediately upon becoming aware of the full extent of the circumstances.

The organiser of the individual event formats is the University of Innsbruck, Innrain 52, A-6020 Innsbruck.

  • Registration for an event is completed via the online booking form at www.careerservice.at.
  • Upon receipt of the online form duly completed by the employer, the application to participate in the event becomes binding.
  • The contract is concluded upon receipt of confirmation from the organiser. This confirmation is subject to the availability of exhibition space or other factors, such as industry affiliation. The University of Innsbruck reserves the right to decline acceptance of the application without providing reasons.
  • The booking category depends on the event format, the size of the company (number of employees), the number of booked event days and the date the registration is received by the organiser.
  • The University of Innsbruck reserves the right to offer information events or events where, for example, the interests of society the public, or the creation of important networks for university operations prevail, free of charge.
  • Provision of an appropriate booth space depending on the format and the total available space for the event; other presentation services depending on the event format and availability;
  • Adequate promotion of the event;
  • Booth spaces and presentation time slots are allocated by the organiser. Exhibitors are not entitled to a specific booth location or time slot as a result of their booking.

The Online Media Package includes:

  • Announcement of the event;
  • Publication of the employer’s contact information (company name, contact addresses, and—where possible—contact persons including logo);
  • Publication of the logo with a hyperlink to a desired company webpage on www.careerservice.at.

As an exhibitor, the client must comply with the safety and fire protection regulations set by the organiser and behave in a manner that ensures a safe and orderly course of the event. Any furniture provided free of charge by the organiser must be treated with due care.

Instructions given by the organiser must be followed. In cases of serious breaches of safety, the organiser reserves the right to exclude exhibitors from the event. The House Rules and Usage Regulations of the University of Innsbruck, in their current version, apply: Haus- und Benützungsordnung – Universität Innsbruck.

The event will only take place if a minimum number of exhibitors is achieved . If the required minimum number of exhibitors or participant registrations is not fulfilled, the organiser reserves the right to cancel the event. Exhibitors will be entitled to a full refund in such cases.

Any deficiencies in the services of the University of Innsbruck must be reported promptly and in writing, at the latest before the event begins, to allow for rectification. Complaints made after this period cannot be considered and do not entitle the complainant to claims against the University.

The University of Innsbruck is not liable for damages, except in cases of gross negligence and culpable personal injury.

In case of withdrawal by the exhibitor following a legally binding booking confirmation, a flat fee of 75% of the base price will be charged (prices plus 20% VAT). The basis for assessment is the standard rate for the respective event.

  • Job advertisements are purchased for each employer profile via the order process integrated into the registration form (select Book job advertisements).
  • After the order has been processed by the Career Service, the purchased contingent of job advertisements is available to the employer in the portal. The job adverts can be published independently by the employer.
  • The Career Service reserves the right to provide services in the Career Service portal free of charge until further notice. This applies, for example, to the publication of internship listings that meet fair and qualified criteria or if an advertisement cannot be published or utilised within the timeframe indicated on the invoice. There is no entitlement to free advertisement puplication or an extension of the service period.

The employer undertakes not to misuse the Internship and Job Portal, and in particular agrees:

not to impersonate someone else and to provide only content that accurately describes the employer in question;

not to create multiple accounts/profiles per employer;

not to post any advertisements that violate legal regulations. Unlawful advertisements may be removed by the University of Innsbruck immediately and without prior notice;

not to upload any material protected by intellectual property rights for which the employer does not hold the necessary rights or permissions. The employer affirms that they are entitled to freely use any intellectual property rights (particularly trademarks and copyrights) contained in their entries or advertisements and explicitly grants the operator the right to use such materials as required to fulfil the contract;

not to threaten other employers or infringe the rights (including personal rights) of third parties;

not to send mass emails, intercept emails or other messages from other employers or attempt to do so;

not to use the service in a way that negatively affects the availability of the offers for other employers;

not to use automated scripts for data scraping, not to upload potentially virus-infected data, and not to launch or attempt any electronic attacks (e.g. hacking) against the portal or other employers;

not to withhold any documents or data required for the fulfilment of the order or access to required information and in any case to make these available free of charge;

not to allow third parties to use their account, nor to transfer their account to others. Disclosure or publication of login credentials and passwords to third parties is not permitted.

If the employer breaches one or more of these rules, the operator reserves the right to take legal action, assert claims for damages and to immediately delete the account and block the employer’s access.

The employer undertakes to indemnify and hold harmless the University of Innsbruck with regard to any kind of legal action, claims, losses or damages arising from his/her participation within the platform. This applies in particular to claims by third parties for defamation, libel, violation of personal rights, loss of services for other employers or infringement of intellectual property rights. The indemnification obligation also applies to all costs, including those necessary to defend against such claims.

  • The information accessible via the Internship and Job Portal is provided by the employers themselves. The sole responsibility for the content of posted and published advertisements, editorial contributions, image films, etc., lies with the respective employer. The University of Innsbruck accepts no liability for the accuracy and legality of the content published by the employers.
  • The information posted by employers does not constitute binding offers from the University of Innsbruck to third parties. Any resulting contractual agreement is concluded exclusively between the employer and the third party. The University of Innsbruck is neither a representative nor an agent of the employer, nor does it act as an employment agency. The University of Innsbruck accepts no warranty and/or liability for the failure to establish an employment relationship or, in the event that such a relationship is established, for a specific quality of work or work performance.
  • From the moment access is activated and until its expiry, it is the employer’s responsibility to maintain their advertisements, including, for example, deactivating outdated postings, unless such postings are already deactivated automatically by the system.
  • The content published by the University of Innsbruck is protected - insofar as it is a work of authorship or is subject to protection under copyright law for other reasons - and may only be used with the appropriate authorisation. These general terms and conditions do not grant employers any rights in connection with the operator's trademarks or service marks.

The confidentiality of the account and password is the sole responsibility of the respective employer. The employer is obliged to inform the University of Innsbruck immediately of any unauthorised access, such as through hacking, password phishing or any other means.

By registering in the Internship and Job Portal and submitting an order, both parties agree to comply with the applicable data protection laws and regulations.

In accordance with the GDPR, the employer is hereby informed that the University of Innsbruck will use their data for contractual purposes, including automated processing.

  • The University of Innsbruck endeavours to ensure the proper operation of the Internship and Job Portal, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted usability or accessibility. For example, maintenance work may cause a temporary interruption to the service.  Ansprüche können hieraus nicht abgeleitet werden.
  • The University of Innsbruck accepts no liability or responsibility for the availability and content of external websites or sources linked to by the employer.
  • The University of Innsbruck shall not, under any circumstances, be liable for damages resulting from data loss incurred through the use of the Internship and Job Portal. It is the sole responsibility of the employer to ensure appropriate data backup. No warranty or liability shall be assumed for malfunctions, improper use by the employer, unsuitable software and/or hardware, or the use of data storage devices by the employer.
  • Die Universität Innsbruck übernimmt und trägt für die vom/von der Arbeitgeber:in angelieferten Daten, Anzeigentexte, sonstige Datenmaterialien und diesbezügliche Speichermedien keine Verantwortung; sie ist auch nicht verpflichtet, The University of Innsbruck accepts no responsibility for the data, advertisement texts, other data materials and related storage media provided by the employer; nor is it obliged to store them. The employer is solely responsible for verifying the information provided by applicants and employers. The University of Innsbruck is in no way liable for incomplete or untrue information provided by third parties.
  • The University of Innsbruck accepts no liability for damages resulting from participation in the internship and job portal, except in cases of intent or gross negligence and culpable personal injury.

The place of jurisdiction shall be the court with subject-matter jurisdiction in Innsbruck. This applies to consumers within the meaning of the Consumer Protection Act only if their place of residence, habitual residence, or place of employment is located within this jurisdiction.

Austrian law shall apply, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
