The establishment of an appropriate institutional framework at the University of Innsbruck is an essential basis for the successful anchoring of sustainability. This requires serious and credible support for sustainability efforts by central management bodies (Rectorate, University Council, Senate).

At the same time, it requires the creation of various forms of participation and involvement that enable employees and students to actively participate in shaping the university.

The principles of participation, cooperation, trust and transparency enshrined in the University of Innsbruck's mission statement are therefore of central importance. Living an organisational culture in the sense of sustainability also includes aspects such as working atmosphere and working conditions.
