Abstract

To preserve the cultural landscape in the Alps and reach the ambitious climates targets will only be possible if we intensify our efforts in the valorisation and sustainable use of the historic buildings and understand this task as a mission for the whole civil society. The ATLAS project will point to the (re)discovery of - not necessarily protected - traditional architecture (buildings and ensembles), often situated in less-favoured areas and with a low level on energy efficiency and living comfort.

Output-Instruments

1. Historic Building Atlas for the Alpine Space will be established as ca tool for the capitalization of best practice building retrofit.
2. Concepts for low carbon retrofit and RES integration will be socially, culturally and technically evaluated and adapted to the Alpine archetypes
3. Historic building retrofit will be established as part of sustainable regional development strategies and business concept.

To reach this targets ATLAS will provide advanced tools such as an online decision-support tool for environmental building retrofit and a ToolKit for municipalities. Tailored Training and dissemination activities like the cross-border EnerCulTour and transnational workshops will ensure the knowledge exchange and implementation of project outputs.
Partners with expertise in energy efficiency, heritage preservation and regional development will work closely together in ATLAS.
The integration of the municipalities directly into the consortium is key for developing and implementing the project results.

Main role of the University of Innsbruck

Our main focus in the project is the development and documentation of energy efficient solutions with high conservation compatibility. This solution will be provided via a decision support tool.

Total budget of the project € 1.847.136,89. Total EFRE-Funds 1.399.900,58 €.
