Study of geology at the University of Innsbruck ( M. Sc. thesis) on the alteration of limestone associated with MVT-type lead-zinc mineralization (advisor: Prof. Rainer Brandner).

In 1993 Community Service.

In 1994 Ph. D. from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich on the Late Cretaceous-Miocene development and sequence stratigraphy of the Maiella carbonate platform margin, Central Italy (advisors: Prof. Daniel Bernoulli, Prof. Gregor Eberli, Dr. Maria Mutti).

Since october 1994 assistant at the Institute of Geology and Paleontology, University of Innsbruck.

Research project "Sequence Stratigraphy, Basin Development and Alpine Tectonics of the Upper Cretaceous of Brandenberg (Austrian Science Fund, completed 1999),

Habilitation in June 2000: "Upper Cretaceous rudist formations of the Eastern Alps: Stratigraphy, sedimentology and models of development."
