I am a human geographer specialising in population geography, spatial development and spatial governance (urban and regional development, spatial planning). My research interests are demographic processes and their spatial effects, with a particular focus on im/mobilities and their implications in different spaces (in-migration and out-migration, multilocality, demographic change). I am specifically interested in processes in peripheral and rural areas and possibilities of spatial governance to react to them (regional development, revitalisation, spatial planning). I studied geography at the University of Vienna, specialising in Theoretical and Applied Geography (focus on Regional Development and Population Geography), as well as Spatial Research and Spatial Planning. I completed my PhD at the University of Vienna in 2017. Afterwards, I conducted research in various projects at the University of Vienna and at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. After a research stay as a scholarship holder at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Institute of Geography, Research Group Regional Development), I have been working as a university assistant at the University of Innsbruck since 2023.
By appointment (by email). Consultation hours usually take place in my office on the 7th floor, also online on request or if necessary
