Jan Hartung, a Master’s student at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, has successfully completed his five-month ERASMUS+ traineeship with two projects in the field of energy-efficient ventilation technology at the Energy Efficient Building Unit. The thematic focus of his work was the fully automated balancing of ventilation systems. The traineeship provided the opportunity to develop and test innovative wireless airflow controllers utilising energy harvesting from the airflow and radio communication (LoRaWAN), as well as a self-programmed microcontroller-based fan control system. We would like to express our gratitude for the successful collaboration between HfT Stuttgart (Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction / SENCE) and the UIBK (mentor: Assoc. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rainer Pfluger) as part of the Erasmus+ funding programme.
