Obergurgl University Center

At an altitude of 1,940 meters, the university center is located in the highest glacial village in the Tyrol. It is at the end of the Oetz valley and surrounded ba numerous three-thousand meter peaks. The center´s national trust buildings are just five minutes´ walk away from the heart of the village. The university base is right next to downhill runs in winter, and an ideal startingpoint for mountain tours in summer. One of the most beautiful biosphere reserves in Europe is right on your door step. The Timmelsjoch high alpine road (2,509 m ), the highest pass across the Eastern Alps, takes you to Meran, which is merely 60 km away. The road is open from mid-June to the end of September.
