Campaigns
Arctic Research of the Composition of the Troposphere from Aircraft and Satellites (ARCTAS), 2008:

              Link: http://www.espo.nasa.gov/arctas/
The campaign took place onboard a NASA DC-8 research aircraft. Among others, the long range transport of anthropogenic pollutants and boreal forest fire blooms to the arctic were investigated.

Arctic Summer Cloud Ocean Study (ASCOS), 2008:

  Link: http://www.ascos.se/
The campaign took place in the arctic ocean onboard the ice breaker "Oden". The campaign's target is a better understanding of processes leading to cloud formation.

NitroEurope: July/August 2006:

Even though conventional PTR-MS use H3O+-ions as primary ion species, here O2+ was used. This allows on-line measurements of Ammonia (NH3) via the electron transfer reactionn with O2+. The modified PTR-MS was tested in Oensingen (Switzerland), within the scope of the NitroEurope-Project.

NOx-structure in the Inn Valley during high air pollution (INNOX), 2006:

Elevation profiles of air pollutants and meteorological parameters were measured to determine spatial distribution of pollutants in the Inn valley during wintertime. At lower altitudes (up to 200 m above ground) a Teflon inlet-line were mounted on a captive balloon. The air was analysed by a PTR-MS and a CO-Analyser. At higher altidues, a Metair (www.metair.ch) research aircraft, equipped with several analytic devices, was used.

Emission und Chemische Umwandlung biogener flüchtiger Organischer Verbindungen (ECHO), 2003:

  Link: http://www.fz-juelich.de/icg/icg-2/echo/
The ECHO campaign focused on measurments of emissions of tobacco plants, which were planted under controlled conditions in an plant chamber. Beside this, emission measurements of the forest on top of the 36 m high tower (above canopy) were made.

Schneefernerhaus Aerosol and Reactive Nitrogen Experiment (SCAVEX), 2002:

Just below the Zugspitze (2962 m), a former hotel was converted to an research station. Highly time-resolved measurements of VOCs in clean-air-sites claim to professional measurement technique.

Arctic Ocean Expedition (AOE), 2001:

Our team advance to the most remote regions of the world ... Pictures from the Arctic Ocean Expedition, July to August 2001:

Regional emission of biogenic reactive volatile organics (BVOC) from forests in germany (BEWA), 2000:

Measurments of forest emissions in a German forest (Fichtelgebirge, north Bavaria) werde done by two PTR-MS, positioned at 16 and 28 m elevation on the BEWA-measurment-tower.

The Texas Air Quality Study (TEXAQS), 2000:

  Link: http://www.utexas.edu/research/ceer/texaqs/
Houston is one of the most polluted cities in the US. VOC-measurments have helped to find the the sources, that lead to the strong Ozone pollution.

The Indian Ocean Experiment (INDOEX), 1999:

PTR-MS-Measurments during the INDOEX have charakterised the spatial extent and the chemical composition of pollution blooms. These blooms mainly coming from bio mass burning in the indian subcontinent during the winter monsoon. The measurments were done over wide regions of the indian ocean, onboard the NOAA research Ship "Ronald H. Brown" and the resaerch aircraft NCAR C-130.
